Karen Blixen Cottages and Restaurant
Situated near the famous Karen Blixen Museum, Nairobi, which is the former African home of author Karen Blixen (“Out of Africa”), Karen Blixen Cottages and Restaurant serves as a refuge for weary travelers who want a home away from home where they can be closer to nature and enjoy outdoor sports. This accommodation is only a short 30-minute drive from Jomo Kenyatta airport and is located near the Karen Golf and Country Club, a sports haven where guests can enjoy playing golf, squash, tennis and other outdoor activities.
What We Offer
Designed to look like the classic Swedo House with its high ceilings with fireplaces, wooden floors and mazeras stone floorings, Karen Blixen Cottages and Restaurant is able to accommodate up to 30 guests. Its bedrooms are all equipped with satellite televisions, telephone services and stable internet connections. Each room has a huge bathroom with its own toilet and bath and is all equipped with hairdryers, robes and slippers.
Karen Blixen cottages all have verandahs overlooking the garden where one could relax just by looking at flowers, butterflies, birds and other sights of nature. There are four cottages that contain two bedrooms each complete with a common sitting room, a dining table and a large fireplace. The other four cottages have two private suites each with a separate dressing room. There is one large honeymoon cottage for special events that has two fireplaces and a sitting room.
Aside from the comfort these cottages offer, Karen Blixen Cottages and Restaurant also boasts of a swimming pool where one can relax and swim for fun. The private garden bar is a place for bonding and socializing with family and friends on special occasions. The restaurant serves food that tantalizes your senses and creates a truly rewarding gastronomic experience.
